Frenchmans Cap (Derwent Bridge) All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go
The hike to Frenchmans Cap leaves from a spacious car park branching off Lyell Hwy (A10), just 25 minutes east of Lake St Clair where another of our favourite multi-day walks begins - Mt Geryon and The Labyrinth. Frenchmans Cap Car Park offers a shelter with some information on the area but little else.

Frenchmans Cap A Guide To The Best Hike In Tasmania
'Frenchmans' is a journey with a destination, where the rewards are well worth the effort. We take four days to best appreciate the area, attempt a climb to the mountain summit (weather dependent) and explore the surrounding ridges and lakes. The 46km track does represent more of a physical challenge with it's rough terrain and long, steep climbs.
